The Kidde FX-5R is a conventional fire-alarm control panel with five Class B initiating-device circuits (IDCs) that can be paired to create up to two Class A IDCs. Two notification-appliance circuits (NACs) provide 3.5 A of 24 V DC power and may be wired as two Class B outputs or one Class A output. Front-panel programming, one-person walk test, and selectable IDC and NAC types streamline installation and service. When used with CleanMe-compatible smoke detectors, the panel offers drift compensation and remote maintenance alerts that help reduce nuisance alarms. The FX-5R runs on 120 VAC, supplies regulated 27.4 V DC, and charges up to 24 Ah of sealed lead-acid batteries (10 Ah fit inside the cabinet).
